Activities

At Wanslea, we pride ourselves on

  • Fully trained and caring staff ready to inspire, challenge, educate and nurture your children
  • Fully accredited in the 'Start Right Eat Right' program and has recently been successfully audited in Food Safety Planning
  • Uses the South Australian Curriculum Standards Accountability (SACSA) framework; designed by the Education Department for children from birth to year 12. It's not compulsory in child care but we know this curriculum gives children the edge
  • Provide education activities and experiences for our pre-school children in line with SA Educational Standards
  • Provides an extracurricular program, including music
  • To help both you and your children settle in you are welcome to visit, stay with your child and join in experiences; at no charge.

Here is a sample of the type of extracurricular activities planned at Wanslea in a year:

  • Healthy Habits (for all ages)
  • Animals Anonymous: interacting with reptiles (for all ages)
  • Fire Truck: look over a fire truck and meet some fire-fighters (over 2s)
  • Celebrate social diversity and cultural differences within multicultural Australia (for all ages)
  • The Amazing Drumming Monkeys (for all ages)
  • Experiencing different cultures: Africa & India (for all ages)
  • Interactive Puppet Christmas show (for all ages)

Volunteers
Wanslea Child Care Centre relies on committed and skilled parent volunteers to undertake its work in partnership with paid staff.
