Community Programs

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

We recognise and affirm that communities are the building blocks of society. Communities shape the lives of each person and play a central role in enabling people to reach their potential. Communities that are supportive and responsive lead to the development of fulfilled and happy individuals and families who are empowered to assert their needs. (FaCES Commitment to Community Development)

Through our Community Programs, we are committed to:

  • fostering a stronger community,
  • discovering hidden creativity,
  • encouraging cultural diversity, and
  • growing financial independence

The range of groups and activities we facilitate are determined by community need. Current and past activities have included:

  • cooking groups
  • art & mosaic classes
  • music
  • English classes
  • youth development
  • culturally specific groups
  • participation in local community events such as the Adelaide Fringe and the South Australian Living Artists Festival
