Drug Diversion Initiative

The Police Drug Diversion Initiative (PDDI) operates in the North (Elizabeth) and South (Morphett Vale). It is part of the Illicit Drug Diversion Initiative (IDDI), which includes PDDI and the Court Assessment Referral Drug Scheme (CARDS).

Clients are referred by the SA Police (PDDI) or, in the South, also through the courts (CARDS).

The drug diversion programs are based on minimising harm, and the aims are to divert minor drug offenders, help users identify and address the impact of drugs on a person’s life. The program aims to empower participants to make safe choices and take responsibility for their health.

The service is free and confidential.

In the south, contact (08) 8392 3111

In the north, contact (08) 8256 2170

Anglicare-SA also runs safe needle exchange programs from Elizabeth and Salisbury.

Morphett Vale offers fee-for-service drug and alcohol counselling for individuals or those referred by professional agencies.
