Anglicare has three programs to help people manage better financially.
Money Minded is a free community education program, run in partnership with the ANZ bank.
Money Minded is a free financial education program for adults, which helps people build their financial skills, knowledge and confidence in banking, debts, credit, fees and charges; and knowing your rights and responsibilities as a consumer.
It aims to improve people’s capacity to successfully manage day-to-day and long term financial matters.
Money Minded provides unbiased consumer education and is free of any financial institution’s branding or promotion of any financial institution’s products or services.
Money Minded covers:
- Planning and Budgeting
- Getting Started
- Understanding Paperwork
- Credit Providers
- Dealing with Debt
- Rights and Responsibilities
- Planning for the Future
- A Roof Overhead
Anglicare also delivers, free of charge, the MoneyMinded Facilitator (train the trainer) — a two day workshop for community workers who would like to incorporate the MoneyMinded adult financial literacy program with their clients.

The NILS No Interest Loan Scheme
The NILS No Interest Loan Scheme provides interest free loans, from $250–1200 for whitegoods, essential medical items or electrical goods.
Repayments are between $15–30 per fortnight. As the money is paid back, it is used to fund more loans for other people.
There are conditions, and it takes about a fortnight to complete the loan application process.
