Who is it for?

The Evolution school holiday program is a program of recreational activities for young people between the ages of 12 and 17, and those in the alternative care system. There are 10 places available per day. We work on a first in first served basis.

What do we offer?

We offer a range of recreational activities including swimming at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre, ten pin bowling at Woodville Bowl, Ice skating at the Ice Area and days at our site in Kilkenny that we call 'drop in' days. On these days, young people can play pool, play Wii games and X-box games. They can engage in art and craft activities, cooking and sporting activities. Lunch is provided every day.

To make a referral

The Evolution school holiday program and the referral form will be sent to all Families SA offices, all of the social workers of the young people enrolled in our term program and all of the metropolitan residential care units, three weeks before the school holiday program begins. We will also fax or email referral forms on request. Please contact the Evolution office on 8347 2265 for a form.

When the referral has been completed and returned to us by email or fax, confirmation of the booking will be sent to the young person’s social worker and carer. The holiday program timetable will contain the information about the start time and finish times, costs and where the day’s activities will be held. The referral must be both signed and sent by the social worker.

Download a referral package here.

Cancellations

If the young person cannot attend on any of their days they have been booked for, please call the day before or before 10am of that day. If a young personal has been booked and does not arrive and we have not been notified, a $10 dollar cancellation fee will be charged.

Fees

The fee for each day will be printed on the timetable. At the end of the holiday program, each young person’s days will be tallied up and the invoice sent to their social worker. FLO (flexible learning options) may also attend the school holiday program and will have to pay for themselves.
