The centre is open to all with a focus on very long term unemployed, people with disabilities and mature aged and injured workers transitioning to new career paths.  The program is a leading example of a social enterprise that is self sustaining and environmentally responsive.

The centre also houses the Refugee Household Goods Assistance Program and Digital Depot.

The Personal Support Programme addresses all the barriers which stop people from getting in to the workforce. Anglicare’s qualified workers work with people with a range of difficulties, like:

  • Social isolation/alienation
  • Communication/language skills
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Homelessness
  • Drug & alcohol problems
  • Domestic violence
  • Long term unemployment

Anglicare SA’s PSP offers a range of services, including

  • counselling and personal support to address your problems or concerns
  • assessment and planning to achieve results based on goals you agree on
  • practical support and activities
  • referral and advocacy — linking people to other support services
  • group work
  • developing your action plan.

Work Options

 The Work Options centre provides facilities, resources and staff to assist unemployed community members to successfully gain suitable employment. Computer access, including internet access, is available for the purposes of job seeking. Several workshops addressing relevant vocational issues are conducted on a monthly cycle. These include; Learners Workshop, Interview Skills, Resume Preparation, Finding Jobs etc. All participants are encouraged to clearly identify their vocational goals and develop an individual Action Plan which is reviewed regularly. They are provided with ongoing support and mentoring.

Employment Assistance Program

 The program aims to assist eligible unemployed people who are experiencing barriers to employment. It seeks to enable them to become more competitive in the labour market and thereby ultimately move into sustainable employment. The program is particularly focussed on assisting disadvantaged groups including indigenous, mature aged, young people at risk, migrants / refugees, people with a disability and women. The program provides career counselling, job search training, case management and individual support / mentoring, work experience, employment brokerage and post placement support.

Mature Aged Pre-Employment Program

 The program aims to assist unemployed community members who are aged 40 + to develop appropriate skills to enter or re-enter the workforce successfully. Individual case management and group training is provided with a focus on relevant life and vocational skills, career development, work experience placements, pre-employment skills training, assistance with identifying and securing work opportunities.

Springboard

 The program aims to assist individuals who have very little community involvement and have difficulty accessing services. The program is individually tailored to address the specific needs of the participants in overcoming the personal and vocational barriers to involvement. The program is self paced and seeks to provide skills based training and opportunities for involvement in volunteer work, work experience placements and ultimately, where appropriate, facilitate paid employment.
