Therapy ServicesAnglicare SA’s Therapy Services are offered at three
of our aged care facilities, for elderly people living
in our facilities or in the local area.
Therapy Services are provided for people aged 60 and over, although in some cases younger clients may be eligible. Referrals need to be made by a medical practitioner or other health professionals. Therapy Services are for people whose lives have been disrupted by injury or illness, emotional difficulties or the ageing process. Our aim is help all our clients reach and maintain the highest level of independence in all aspects of their lives, so they can remain in the community and home of their choice, for as long as possible. Therapy Services FeesAnglicare’s Therapy Services are subsidised by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Family Services, but clients are asked to pay a small fee to contribute to the program’s funding. If payment of the fee would cause financial hardship, a concession fee may be negotiated. No client will be refused services should there be any inability to pay. • Occupational Therapy is offered in groups or individually, to maximise skills and safety at home, and increase function through the use of activity. • Physiotherapy is treatment for musculoskeletal or neurological conditions. Group programs include exercise and relaxation classes, falls prevention programs and physio chi for management of arthritis. • Podiatry maintains comfort and mobility in people with foot problems.
