09.06.2010 Winter Appeal launched at Breakfast Debate

Anglicare will provide hope to many people facing a cold and miserable winter with the launch of its Winter Warmth Appeal.

The appeal aims to raise $200,000 during the month of June. This year it was launched with a breakfast debate at the Adelaide Zoo, hosted by columnist and radio host Peter Goers on the topic ‘Is hope enough?’

Arguing furiously was:

  • Dr Lynn Arnold AO, Chief Executive, Anglicare SA and former Premier of South Australia
  • Jan Stirling AM, elite basketball player, Olympic coach and sports consultant
  • Andre Ursini, chef who shot to prominence on MasterChef, now proprietor of Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar
  • Jenny Williams, state and national player and coach in four sports, consultant and researcher.

As the cold weather sets in and the electric blankets and crock pots are dragged out of cupboards, many people will still be cold and hungry this winter.

Help us to feed, clothe and warm them by donating cash to the Appeal to support our community programs and to provide hope, warmth and comfort to those struggling to make ends meet.

Every dollar donated or pledged is used to support Anglicare programs and clients and is not used for any other purposes.
